Three Keys to Fuel Prayer

Scripture defines the kingdom as having three critical components that are foundational to its existence: righteousness, peace and joy in the Holy Spirit (Romans 14:17). These three components should also be present during times of prayer and are significant to safeguarding against demonic interference during the prayer sets.

First, there is a sense of the righteousness of God or what I like to call “right standing” in the atmosphere during prayer. God should be pleased with the personal lives and hearts of all that are praying. By the same token, there should also be an accompanying presence of the peace of God during intercessory prayer. In other words, all manner of anxiety, confusion or division should never be present during the Watch sets.  If ever there is a predominant presence threatening the peace of the prayer time, it is important to identify it at its root and have it removed immediately.

Lastly, joy is the final ingredient that is instrumental for fostering an atmosphere of enjoyable prayer. Joy is attained when our affections are satisfied in Christ.

Scripture: “Even those I will bring to My holy mountain and make them joyful in My house of prayer. Their burnt offerings and their sacrifices will be acceptable on My altar; For My house will be called a house of prayer for all the peoples." (Isaiah 56:7)
