The Power of the Spoken Word

So will My word be which goes forth from My mouth; It will not return to Me empty, Without accomplishing what I desire, And without succeeding in the matter for which I sent it. Isaiah 55:11 NASB

Even as the world around us is shaking, we know that we’ve been given a kingdom that cannot be shaken (Hebrews 12:28). Though many live under the weight of fear and despair, God reminds us of the impenetrable power of His Word. Hebrews 1:3 says that God “upholds the world by the Word of His power.” His Word is above time, never ceasing and containing power of limitless possibility.

In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was in the beginning with God. All things came into being through Him, and apart from Him nothing came into being that has come into being. John 1:1-3

God’s Word decreed has the power to still the storm, shift atmospheres and release healing to distant souls. His Word spoken quickens the ministry of angels who ever live to perform His word.

As intercessors, our job is to look into the valley of dry bones and prophecy to the latent army just waiting for someone to speak in the authority they’ve been given as sons and daughters of the Lord of Hosts. Surely bones will rattle.

Brothers and sisters, we pray fully convinced of this: Not one word from His mouth will return without accomplishing what it was sent out to do. When we line our mouths up with Him, mountains will move (Mark 11:22-24).

Prayer: Father, thank you for the power of Your Word. Your Word is our foundation and fortress, but it’s also our sword. Help us to wield it for the liberation of souls and the glory of your Name. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
